Service Description

People with disabilities will increase to 60% by 2030. Mental illness is at the forefront of this increase. One in three Social Security disability beneficiaries has a mental illness. "Mental health is the foundation for emotions, thinking, communication, learning, resilience, hope, and self-esteem. Mental health is also key to relationships, personal and emotional well-being, and contributing to the community or society. Mental health is a component of overall well-being. It can influence and be influenced by physical health" (https://www.psychiatry.org/patients-families/what-is-mental-illness). The intersection of mental illness and faith is crucial to our understanding of salvation in Christ. Can a Christian have a mental illness? These and more questions, including the notion of spirituality, are addressed. The main classes of mental illness covered in this webinar are: • Bipolar and related disorders. • Depressive disorders. • Anxiety disorders. • Trauma- and stressor-related disorders. • Feeding and eating disorders. • Personality disorders. • Other mental disorders.
