Oat Straw Tea and Honey

Oat Straw (the tops of the Oats plant) herbal infusions have been used for centuries to naturally soften hair, increase manageability, and restore luster.

Oat Straw Tea and Honey

Ingredients

  • 2-3 Tablespoons Oat Straw

  • 1 Quart Distilled water

  • 1 Tablespoon Raw unfiltered Honey

Directions

Step 1

Bring the water to boil.

Step 2

Remove from Heat and add 2-3 tablespoons of Oat straw.

Step 3

Cover with close fitting lid and allow the tea to brew for at least 25 minutes.

Step 4

Strain the tea into a handled container for convenience in pouring over the hair, or to a spray bottle.

Step 5

Add the honey to the room temperature tea and stir or shake to incorporate. Apply to hair and leave on for 15 minutes. Rinse with cool water and style

Caution: The rinse should be at room temperature before using. Never pour hot tea in your hair.

Lean over a sink  as you slowly pour the tea over your freshly shampooed hair, massage the infusion into your hair and scalp.

Bonus Tip:
Place a large bowl under your head to catch the liquid and reapply several times. Let the infusion sit in your hair for a few minutes.
Gently rinse with cool water or, for extra conditioning benefits, just leave it in and towel dry hair.
