About the Recipe

Ingredients

1 dried Avocado seed

4 cups Boiling water

Preparation

Step 1

Remove the seed from the flesh and let dry for a few days. You may speed up the process by drying in an oven on low heat.

Step 2

Grate the seed and store it in a jar with a tight-fitting lid when dried. Spoon two teaspoons to 4 cups of water and remove from the heat to let brew.

If you are using the whole seed, grating the dried seed can be challenging. Boil the seed for a few minutes and remove from the liquid. Chop the softened seed into small pieces and return to the boiling water. As this is a hard material, boil for an additional 20 to 30 minutes on low flame.

Step 3

Remove from the flame, cool slightly, and strain into your favorite cup.

Enjoy the rich color and flavor with or without sweetener.
